We offer 24-hour care for all residents with Registered General Nurses present at all times. A unique personal care plan is prepared for each resident and it is reviewed regularly. All information, data and records relating to residents remains confidential and is protected. Visits to the dentist, optician and physiotherapist are arranged when required.

Palliative care, or end of life care, is care where a recovery from illness is not expected. At Southcare Homes we understand how upsetting this final stage of life can be for everyone. We offer compassionate and sensitive care.

Choosing a care home for someone with dementia is always difficult. At Southcare Homes, we keep finding ways to make our homes more dementia-friendly and can help you by sharing our experience, built up over a generation.

our facilities

The majority of our rooms have en-suite facilities. In every room there is the option to personalise your space and have your own decor and furniture. For those with a taste of the outdoors, we have many rooms on the ground floor with patio areas.

Highbury has two lounge areas where residents can socialise, enjoy activities and entertainment and relax. Guests are always welcome to spend time with their relatives here.

Our wonderful dining room is situated in our home’s conservatory, allowing residents to watch the day go by in our beautiful garden as they enjoy their home-cooked meals. Our in-house chefs cook fresh meals with the menu changing weekly.

Unwind to the sound of birdsong in our little suntrap of a garden, with a beautifully maintained lawn and flower area. The large patio area is a great place for all our summer BBQs, evening talks about times gone by and soaking up some sun.

our rating

All of our homes are independently assessed by the Care Quality Commission which regulates the standards of health and social care in care homes.

Our residents’ care and well-being is of primary importance to all of us at Highbury House. We value and take to heart the feedback given to us by the CQC and have already put in much effort to improve things since the inspection in July (published in October 2019). Read our Action Plan below to see our we’ve been improving since then.

Hello, I'm Christine

Christine Barber
Nursing Care Home Manager
Highbury House Nursing Home

Since the start of my career in care, I have always felt privileged to work in the care sector. It all started when I was 16 and I began working in a nursing home in Horsham as a Healthcare Assistant. I am now the proud Nursing Care Manager at Highbury House and I find it very rewarding to be working with a brilliant team and giving great person-centred care. I am passionate about my family and my work and I joined Southcare Homes because their family values go all the way to the heart of the company and into the hearts of the staff that work here. I hope my extensive experience will help Highbury House achieve its potential, continue offering personalized care to residents and remain a happy home for everyone within.
